Pirelli P Zero Corsa Review — Ferrari and Lamborghini’s Track-Ready OEM Choice
Overall Rating: 9.5 / 10
Category: Semi-Slick / Track Road Legal
Price in NZ: From $827 per tyre
Best for: Ferrari 488 GTB, Ferrari F8 Tributo, Lamborghini Huracan EVO — track-focused supercars
Available sizes: 18″ – 22″ rims
Quick Verdict
The Pirelli P Zero Corsa occupies the track-day focused tier below the all-out Trofeo R — providing semi-slick performance that is more usable on public roads than the Trofeo R, while still delivering far greater circuit capability than the P Zero PZ5 road tyre. It is OEM on Ferrari’s track-focused Pista variants and selected Lamborghini Huracan configurations — vehicles where the Corsa’s characteristics have been specifically calibrated by the manufacturer’s dynamics engineers. At $827, it is extremely expensive relative to road alternatives, but for track day use at Highlands, Manfeild, and Hampton Downs, it delivers lap times impossible on standard road tyres. Performance Profile
Dry: Semi-slick compound delivers extreme dry grip approaching full racing slick performance at road car speeds. The compound warms quickly and performs consistently once at operating temperature.
Wet: EU Label E — limited wet grip. Usable in very light rain at reduced speeds but not safe in heavy rain on NZ roads. Always carry road tyres for the drive home if NZ weather deteriorates during a track day.
Tread life: Short — 1,500–4,000 km depending on use. The road-legal tread grooves extend life vs the full Trofeo R but still far shorter than road tyres.
NZ Road Conditions Assessment
Track use: Outstanding. At Highlands Motorsport Park in Cromwell — NZ’s most driver-focused circuit — the Corsa enables Ferrari and Lamborghini owners to explore the full dynamic limits of their cars safely within the circuit environment. Road use limited to the drive to and from the circuit in dry conditions.
